The Perfect T-Shirt
Basic, yet rare: The Backyard Model wearing a great t-shirt.
T-shirts are a taken-for-granted wardrobe staple. Why is it so hard to find a great one? Maybe it's just me. But find a t-shirt that's long enough, doesn't shrink, and offers a flattering fit for a person with curves is a bit of a tough go.
I was shopping in Lake Geneva, Wis., and found a place on the main thoroughfare that was having a sale. I guessed at my size because the changing rooms weren't open. I loved the soft feel of this ZSupply shirt, plus the raw-edge pocket. Then, when I spied the curved hem, I decided to take a chance on it. There's something about a curved hem that makes a casual top special; it's a detail that offers softness over the hips that's more flattering than a straight line. (At least that's my nonexpert opinion.) The shirt is a splurge at over $30, but worth it. I brought it home, tried it on, washed it, and have been living in it ever since. It comes in many colors, too. Definitely have my eye on more.
I wasn't looking for a t-shirt on the day I was shopping. But like most "perfect" things, they find you when you're not looking.
Here's looking at you, while I'm wearing the perfect T.
